Position Overview:

The Site Manager reports directly to the National Director of Operations in overseeing janitorial operations, staff performance, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing janitorial contracts, ensuring the highest levels of service and client satisfaction. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage complex operations.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Leadership and Client Liaison
  • Directly report to and implement initiatives from the National Director of Operations, while acting as primary on-site liaison with client site-level management.
  • Represent Crane IFS in daily, weekly, and ad hoc client meetings and audits.
  • Respond to audit reports and coordinate actions to maintain compliance and performance, resulting in adherence to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations of assigned site, ensuring client satisfaction and contract compliance.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required to ensure site success.
  • Maintain a consistent physical presence on-site, actively monitoring day-to-day activities, responding in real time to operational needs, and providing hands-on support during high-demand periods.

Staff Management and Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of janitorial staff to deliver high-quality cleaning services, while inspecting work areas regularly to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
  • Provide hands-on training to supervisory staff and oversee “train-the-trainer” programs for SMA development.
  • Develop and adjust staffing schedules and coverage plans to meet operational demands and budget requirements.
  • Operational Oversight and Performance Monitoring
  • Monitor and report on contract performance, including financial metrics and service quality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize operations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct ongoing audits of service performance versus scope and project directives.
  • Complete and submit all reporting requirements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Inventory, Equipment & Budget Management
  • Work within set budgets for labor and materials, while monitoring labor hours and overtime.
  • Manage and order cleaning supplies and equipment while monitoring usage to prevent waste and theft, and ensuring equipment is maintained and repaired as needed.
  • Monitor, maintain, and order supplies to meet stock level targets and avoid shortages.
  • Maintain on-site equipment and assets to ensure they are in good working order and meet performance expectations.
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Collaborate with HR and administrative support to ensure proper onboarding/offboarding, completion of required training, payroll accuracy, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure full compliance with workplace safety regulations.
  • Be reasonably available outside of regular business hours to respond to urgent operational or safety issues, either remotely or in-person, depending on severity.

Qualifications and Physical Demands:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing janitorial contracts.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Strong leadership, team development, and performance management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to maintain positive client relationships.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing client accounts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Significant standing, walking, pushing, kneeling, bending, twisting, reaching, squatting, and crawling.
  • Must be able to work in varying environments and temperatures, including exposure to noise, heat, cold, and indoor/outdoor conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds frequently.
